A Few More Notes from the Road
October 21, 2015
This – a not so simple piece of bread (served with amazing butter), may be the most delicious morsel I’ve eaten all week. It was the bread course at Alo, a terrific new Toronto restaurant.
That meal also featured these snails, with parsley, black oyster and King Oyster
And these terrific veal sweetbreads, with cauliflower, olives and anchovy
Other highlights of the past few days?
These peppers – which were almost extinct until recently brought back to life – at the Farmers market in Washington D.C.’s Dupont Circle
And this “beefsteak burger” at the nearby Beefsteak.
I’m convinced, by the way, that vegetarian fast food joints that rely on organic and local ingredients, are one of the waves of the future.
