Goa, Goa, Goa
August 30, 2016
I was so taken with my meal at Pao Walla a couple of weeks ago, and I kept thinking about the fact that the chef, Floyd Cardoz, is from Goa. I wanted to know more about the cuisine. Then I I found this Madhur Jaffrey article on Goan food in the October 1976 issue of Gourmet magazine.
The recipes look great. I want to try them all, but here are a couple that particularly appeal to me.

Thanks for posting – ever a fan of all food Indian, ever a fan of Madhur Jaffrey, and ever a fan of interesting things to do with clams!
Love, love Goa! Thanks for reminding me of my time spent there.
I am a Goan by heart, having spent a large part of my life there, although not quite a local! If you are ever here, please allow me the pleasure of showing you around the markets and all that glorious local food!! It’s more than fiery vindaloo, and there is a very distinct difference between the local Hindu cuisine and the local Portuguese-influenced catholic cuisine. You must make a trip here!!! If you send me an address I would love to send you a book written by the late grandmother of a close friend and neighbour, from Penguin. 🙂
Dear Ruth
I sent you a goan recipe book, I sincerely hope you got it! I sent it over two weeks ago, from India. By “SpeedPost’
Am most worried whether or not you got it!!
