And an ad from the issue, which tells you what a very different time it was. I can’t imagine an ad like this running today.

    Made your horseradish sauce for my prime rib for Christmas dinner. It was delicious and so simple. It will become a favorite.

  • That was my very first ever edition of Gourmet!!! And yes, I kind of think it would stand the test of time…rather elaborate for today but still you can’t go wrong with Prime Rib at the Christmas table…I remember too, how much I hated the way they wrote their recipes! And like…would you really use a melon baller to do the beets for the salad??? Wonderful to see Gourmet…miss it a lot!
