As we take extra care in providing the dishes that would stimulate all the senses in Japanese cuisine, we ask our guests not to wear strong perfumes and eau de cologne which may compromise the experience.
Non-smoking (all seats including the private room).
Please refrain from smoking electronic cigarettes or water vapor cigarette. Leaving the restaurant to smoke will interfere with the timing of the preparation of the meal and therefore, please refrain from leaving the table during the meal. Also, please note that even if you leave the restaurant to smoke, Minato ward has “Minato Cigarette Rules” that allow smoking only in designated areas and there are none near the restaurant.
Please refrain from using mobile phones in the restaurant (including the entrance area) and the 2nd floor saryo (tea room), “Ryu and Gin”.
Meals are served as a course and we cannot allow taking home any dishes for any reason. Please understand that we also do not have any takeout boxes at our shop.
We strongly request that wine, Japanese sake, and all other beverages not be brought in to our restaurant. Even if they are brought to our restaurant on that day, they cannot be consumed here. Please understand that we are also unable to hold on to your glass cups, and liquor (sake cups).
At RyuGin, we inquire about what foods you do not like, any food allergies that you may have, and your history of visiting our shop when you make your reservations. If you wish to cancel or change the time of your reservation, please make sure to call us before 6PM on the day before your reservation.
Cancellations on the day of the reservation or if after the number of guests have been confirmed by phone and fewer guests arrive without notifying us, a cancellation fee for each absent guest will be charged (20,000 yen including tax). Please note and understand this condition.
Please also note that we have seating for only 24 persons and if we do not receive prior notice for any additional people, we may not be able to arrange seating for them so we must stress that you call us in advance to confirm additional guests.
If you will be late by more than 15 minutes for your reservation, please ensure that you contact us.
Only children of age 10 years or older are allowed. (The basis for this is that same course dishes for adults will be served.)
Frequent accidents have occurred during meals caused by SLR cameras, cameras with long straps, and mobile phones.
Changing lenses or handing cameras over dishes at the table is extremely dangerous if by chance your hand should slip. Your camera may be damaged, the strap may get caught on the dishes, wine glasses may topple, your food may be ruined, and you may even spill hot soup on yourself. People have actually dropped their mobile phones and cameras during meals and have accidently ruined not only the food but also damaged the tableware.
The "antique" tableware have been handled carefully and respectfully over hundreds of years without being damaged until this day and they are very valuable to us.
Accidentally dropping the camera and ending the life of the tableware so soon will bring us to tears at our restaurant. The tableware is living history of the craftsman who made them and are irreplaceable treasures of the restaurant so we please ask for you kind consideration in the spirit of "Wa" (harmony).
When making a reservation for our courses, we ask each individual for foods you are allergic to (including alcohol) and foods that you cannot eat. For foods that you cannot eat, we will care for this by either substituting a different dish or removing it from the meal for each person individually.
However, RyuGin is a Japanese restaurant and to maintain our form,
- ・ You cannot eat fish at all. You do not want to eat fish (You cannot eat not only "raw" but even "cooked dishes")
- ・ You cannot eat any vegetables or almost all vegetables.
- ・ You don't want to eat fish and only want to eat meat.
- ・ You want to eat an all vegetable course.
- ・ You cannot have any bonito flakes, kelp, or seafood based stock at all
- ・ You have bean or gluten allergies and therefore cannot tolerate any amount of "soy sauce" and "miso".
- ・ You want to have the above readied for just one (portion) of your group.
Guests who ask for such requests will prevent us at RyuGin from responsibly preparing dishes that we feel are satisfactory and therefore we cannot accept such reservations.
Please note that if you are bringing guests that cannot eat or are allergic to many foods, please ensure that you let us know at least by the day before your reservations so as a restaurant, we can smoothly make adjustments. However, if you inform us suddenly on the day that you come to our restaurant, we can only handle the situation with what can only be possibly done on that day at that time in that timing. (During this, there will be no increase or change in the price of the course)
We ask for you kind understanding on this matter.
We often see customers meeting each other in front our restaurant when coming to RyuGin.
There is no reason to meet outside when it is raining or on a cold day or a hot summer’s day. There is a comfortable place for meeting on the second floor of Ruygin, a sukiyazukuri saryo (tea room) “Ryu and Gin” for your use.
Instead of meeting inside of RyuGin, if you wish to dine when all guests are present, please let us know at the time you place your reservation so we can escort you to our second floor.
We can also prepare aperitifs or champagne, seasonal RyuGin original cocktails, and draft beer so please also use this area as a waiting bar.
Our adorable RyuGin mascots of good fortune will welcome you.
In regards to our “Roppongi Pudding”, we quickly sell out our inventory for the day and so if you need them in quantity, please let us know ahead of time to guarantee that we have them ready for you.
Please note that we do not ship this product.
